Benchmark Ashton and Benchmark Romiley are now stockists of HardieBacker.
We cannot boast the benefits of using this product enough as HardieBacker cement backer board is impervious to water damage and will not rot, crack, or swell in the wettest conditions. Which makes it perfect for showers & wet rooms!
It is also non-combustible and carries an A1 fire rating. HardieBacker 12mm can also be used on the floor when additional height is needed, behind a boiler, or even behind a multi-fuel or log burning stove.
‘HardieBacker cement board is made of Portland cement, sand and cellulose and is the number one water-resistant tile board in the UK. Unlike plasterboard, chipboard or plywood backing boards, HardieBacker™ cement board is perfectly fit for installation in wet rooms, kitchens, basements and other damp applications.
Installation is simple; it’s the lightest cement board available and it’s easily cut using a James Hardie score-and-snap knife. Since it contains no messy aggregates it doesn’t scratch the porcelain and enamel surfaces. Pre-drilling is not necessary.
Due to its very high compression resistance HardieBacker™ can carry the weight of today’s large format tiles. It’s superior bonding surface avoids tiles to pop and crack.
HardieBacker cement board for walls is available in 1200 x 800 x 12 mm. The 12 mm wall boards serve as a substrate for tiled walls or can be painted or plastered over. The thickness of the wall boards perfectly matches other board material and therefore creating seamless borders.
Ancillary material, such as screws, score-and-snap knives and alkali-resistant jointing tape make it a one-stop shopping solution.’
