Started From The Bottom Now I’m Here!

Apprenticeships have proven to be the backbone of Benchmark Building Supplies over the years, as it has produced the talent that thrives throughout the business today. Many of which are in a variety of roles, from Management to procurement.

Jason Cadogan (pictured) started with Benchmark back in January 2015 as a young man (18) looking for a new challenge that could provide him with a life long career, or at least put him onto the right path.

Originally Jason started out as a ‘Digital Marketing Apprentice’ where he would complete his Level 3 in Digital Marketing and Social Media. After passing this year long course with flying colours, he then went on to take the additional Level 4 foundation course.

Due to Jason’s skill set, he has become a vital part of Benchmark and is emerging himself into the Saint-Gobain team, where he has regular meeting within the Local Merchant Group team, sharing Marketing ideas across the brands.
Since day one he has shown the willingness to learn and is still progressing through the business. He is currently a Sales and Marketing Co-ordinator, as he has picked up both sides of the business, making him more than capable to jump into a branch help out or help the Key Accounts team.

Cycling for The Christie
He recently completed the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride in aid of The Christie; raising over £600 for the charity. “Being the machine of a man he is” (direct quote!), he decided not only completed the 60 miles to Blackpool, but firstly cycle into Manchester, then on to Blackpool and back to again, covering a total of over 130 miles. Well done Jason!

Jason had this to say: “I have enjoyed the various challenges that have come my way over the years and I am more than happy to keep learning and progressing within the beast that is Saint-Gobain. You will remember my name!”

Good luck in climbing the ladder!
